The Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea is built on the site of the first hotel on the island. In 1961, three young Californians with a passion for Polynesia created a hotel that became legendary: the Bali Hai Moorea. The “Bali Hai Boys”, as they were nicknamed, also built a hotel in Raiatea in 1966 where they invented the bungalow on the water.
Decorated in the purest Polynesian style, the hotel has 28 bungalows on stilts, 8 beach bungalows, 28 garden bungalows with a private pool and 27 rooms and duplexes. This human-sized hotel combines luxury and conviviality for the pleasure of all: honeymooners, families, divers..
The hotel’s restaurant “Le Mahanai” offers delicious dishes with Polynesian flavours. The “Miti Bar & Terrace” offers the possibility to eat by the pool or to enjoy refreshing tropical cocktails. Also available are two meeting rooms, a boutique, a wellness centre, a diving centre and a wide range of excursions and activities on land and water.
A coral nursery and a coral tending workshop run by the Reef Ecosystem Association are located close to the bungalows on stilts. These actions facilitate the development of the marine fauna so beautiful to contemplate with mask and tuba for a memorable experience.
In order to reduce the environmental footprint of our resort, we are in the process of implementing an environmental management system that meets the requirements of EarthCheck, an international environmental certification programme. In 2020, Manava Beach Resort & SPA Moorea obtained the Silver environmental certification.
The NIU BEACH HOTEL MOOREA has an outstanding location in the Haapiti area on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches bordered by a lagoon with infinite shades of blue and coconut trees.
The architectural concept is innovative, favoring a contemporary tropical style for accommodations of character and variety. The architecture is delicate and respectful of the prestigious environment in which it is inserted.
The establishment offers 16 bungalows of great comfort, each with a terrace capable of accommodating 2 to 6 people. All units are equipped with a kitchenette, offering guests the freedom to choose their own schedules and meals. Additionally, the hotel features a restaurant serving breakfast exclusively.
